He grew up in Lambertville, Michigan. He joined Citizen in Toledo, Ohio in 2009 and signed with Run for Cover Records in 2012.

On the 2013 Vans Warped Tour, he played solo acoustic sets in addition to his performances with Citizen.


He released a split LP with his brother Chris Kerekes, titled Winter Split, in 2014. He and Citizen performed with Circa Survive, led by frontman Anthony Green, at the Fashion Meets Music Festival in 2014.
