About Peter Gellhorn

Peter Gellhorn was a German conductor, composer, pianist, and teacher. In 1935, he settled in England, where he continued his career thereafter. After three years, Gellhorn arranged for Benjamin to continue his lessons in Paris with Olivier Messiaen, whom he had known for many years. He finally became a naturalized citizen in 1947 and changed his name to Peter.
