About Sonny Gray

Sonny Douglas Gray is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota Twins, and St. Louis Cardinals. The Athletics selected Gray in the first round of the 2011 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2013, won the American League Pitcher of the Month Award twice in 2014, and has been named an MLB All-Star in 2015, 2019, and 2023. As a junior, he led his team to the 2007 State Tournament with an 11–2 win–loss record and a 0.95 earned run average (ERA).
