About Austin Romine
Austin Allen Romine (born November 22, 1988) is an American former professional baseball catcher. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, and Cincinnati Reds. He made his MLB debut in 2011 for the Yankees. He is the son of Kevin Romine and the brother of Andrew Romine. Romine attended El Toro High School in Lake Forest, California, where he played on the school's baseball team with fellow future major leaguer Nolan Arenado. In 2009, Romine was named the Florida State League Player of the Year. After competing for the major league backup catcher job in spring training, Romine was assigned to the Double-A Trenton Thunder to begin the 2011 season.
