Samuel Peterson "P. J." Hairston Jr. (born December 24, 1992) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels. He finished his sophomore season in 2013 and was eligible for the 2014 NBA draft. He was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Miami Heat, and was later traded to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Shabazz Napier. Hairston attended Dudley High School in Greensboro for his first three years of high school.
