About John Fitzgerald (tennis)
John Basil Fitzgerald OAM (born 28 December 1960) is a former professional tennis player from Australia who played right-handed with a single-handed backhand. During his career, he won 6 top-tier singles titles and 30 tour doubles titles, including 7 Grand Slam doubles titles. He was a member of the Australian team which won the Davis Cup in 1983 and 1986. Fitzgerald was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 1993.
