About J. R. Giddens
Justin Ray "J. R." Giddens is an American former professional basketball player. He was selected to the 2003 McDonald's All-American team, then initially played for the University of Kansas but transferred to the University of New Mexico following his sophomore season. He was selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft by the Boston Celtics, and played for various professional teams until 2019. Giddens is the former head coach of the women's basketball team at Northern New Mexico College. In his first year at Kansas, Giddens earned All-Big 12 Conference Freshman honors while averaging 11 points per game. Giddens started his first game for the Boston Celtics on January 2, 2010.
