About John Duncan (footballer)

John Pearson Duncan was a Scottish football player and manager. He guided Chesterfield to the FA Cup semi-finals in 1997. Duncan's first managerial role was at Scunthorpe United. In his second spell at the club, Chesterfield won the Division Three playoffs in 1995 and reached the FA Cup semi-finals in 1996–97, losing to Middlesbrough in a replay. He was awarded a testimonial by Chesterfield in 2002.
