About Reto Ziegler
Reto Pirmin Ziegler (French pronunciation: [ʁə.to zi.ɡlɛʁ]; born 16 January 1986) is a Swiss former professional footballer who played as a left-back. He played top-flight football in seven countries. He earned 35 international caps for Switzerland and played at both the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups. On 18 February 2007, Ziegler played his first Serie A match for Sampdoria against Parma. Despite being just 18 years old, Ziegler soon made his debut and became an important member of the team under both head coach Jacques Santini, who left in October after just a few months in charge, and his successor, Martin Jol.
