David Christopher Justice is an American former professional baseball outfielder and designated hitter who played 14 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). He played for the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, and Oakland Athletics from 1989 to 2002. Justice won the League Championship Series Most Valuable Player Award for the 2000 American League Championship Series en route to his second World Series championship. Justice was named the American League Player of the Week for the first week of the 2002 season, and was part of the Athletics' 20-game winning streak that year. The Mets paid $1.2 million of Justice's $7 million salary for the 2002 season.
