About István Nyers
István Nyers, also known as Stefano Nyers, was a Hungarian footballer who played as a forward or as a winger. Although he played in only two international matches for Hungary, he is considered one of the greatest football legends of his country, reaching the peak of his career in the 1940s and 1950s. With 26 goals in his first season he became the top scorer of the league. Twice, in 1953 and 1954, he became Italian champion with Inter. He still holds the record for best foreign goalscorer in Serie A in Inter's history, and third overall behind only Benito Lorenzi and Giuseppe Meazza. In 182 games for Inter he scored a total of 133 goals.
