About Maurice G. Dantec
Maurice Georges Dantec was a French-born Canadian science fiction writer and musician. In the late 1970s, after graduating from college, Dantec put together a band called "État d'urgence" ("State of Emergency") one of the first French punk acts. His first novel, La Sirène rouge ("The Red Siren"), was published in 1993 as a part of the Série noire collection. The novel was successful commercially and was awarded the Prix de l'Imaginaire.
