About Attilâ İlhan

Attilâ İlhan (15 June 1925 – 10 October 2005) was a Turkish poet, novelist, essayist, journalist and reviewer. The poem, Cebbaroğlu Mehemmed, won the second prize among many poems written by famous poets. However, he left midway through his legal education to pursue his own endeavours and published his first poetry book, Duvar (The Wall). Although this atmosphere of tension was not in his first poems, the poet published poems in which he remembered or criticized his old days, especially in his books such as Bela Çiçeği. By the time his first novel, The Man on the Street, was published, he had written 10 novels.
