About Gennady Padalka

Gennady Ivanovich Padalka is a Russian Air Force officer and Roscosmos cosmonaut. Padalka is the only person to have served as commander of the International Space Station (ISS) four times. He previously held the record for the most time spent in space at 878 days until Oleg Kononenko broke this record on February 4, 2024 at 07:30:08 UTC and is currently at 2nd position. He worked on both Mir and the International Space Station. Padalka also commanded the first six-person space station crew (Expedition 20), returning to Earth on 11 October 2009.
