Matthew Rempe is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is a centre for the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League. He was drafted by the Rangers in the sixth round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Rempe's 2020–21 season was cut short due to COVID-19 and in 2021–22 he recorded 17 goals and six assists in 56 games for the Thunderbirds. Rempe played his first NHL game against the New York Islanders on February 18, as part of the 2024 NHL Stadium Series, making him the first player to start his NHL career with an outdoor game. Before the game when it was uncertain whether Rempe would play, teammate Jimmy Vesey said "That'd be a pretty sick first game.
