About Geezer Butler

Terence Michael Joseph "Geezer" Butler is an English musician, best known as the bassist and primary lyricist of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath. He has also recorded and performed with Heaven & Hell, GZR, Ozzy Osbourne, and Deadland Ritual. Butler joined his first band, the Ruums, named after an Arthur Porges science fiction story, in 1965. Butler became obsessed with The Beatles and The Kinks, and later Cream and Jimi Hendrix.
