About Huseyn Khan Nakhchivanski

Huseyn Khan Nakhchivanski, or Nakhichevansky, francised spelling: Hussein Nahitchevansky, was a Russian Cavalry General of Azerbaijani origin. He was the only Muslim to serve as General Adjutant of the H. I. M. Retinue. On January 27, 1907, he was awarded the fourth-degree Order of Saint George for leading a successful cavalry charge to rescue an encircled Russian infantry unit. He was also awarded the Golden Saint George Sword. In 1874, Huseyn Nakhchivanski was admitted to the Page Corps and graduated with honours in 1883.
