Justin Peter Rose (born 30 July 1980) is an English professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour and the European Tour. He is a former world number one in the Official World Golf Ranking. He has won one major championship, the 2013 U.S. Open. At age 17, Rose came to prominence when he finished in fourth place as an amateur at the 1998 Open Championship. He turned professional the next day but struggled at the start of his career, making few cuts. Rose won his first European Tour title in 2002 and led the tour's Order of Merit in 2007.
