William Eldridge Frenzel was an American politician and businessman who represented Minnesota's 3rd congressional district in the United States House of Representatives from 1971 to 1991. A member of the Republican Party, Frenzel previously served in the Minnesota House of Representatives from 1963 to 1971. In 2000, he was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, by the Emperor of Japan. Frenzel became known as an expert in budget and fiscal policy, election law, trade, taxes and congressional procedures, and was a negotiator in the 1990 budget summit.
