About Andy King (footballer, born 1956)
Andrew Edward King was an English professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He made 350 appearances and scored 92 goals in the Football League in the 1970s and 1980s, and also played abroad. He was capped twice by England at under-21 level. After retiring as a player, he had a lengthy career in management. During this period he won two England under-21 caps, but never played for the national team. King was the first QPR player to score on the famous 'plastic pitch' in the opening game, although Rangers lost 1–2 to Luton Town.
