Dimitris Salpingidis is a Greek former professional footballer who played as a forward. He was known to be "a very quick and useful tool on the counter attack." For the first time in his career, he received a red card in an away match against Platanias in which PAOK won 1–2. On 3 November 2011, Salpingidis became the Greek player with the most goals in Europe.
