On 29 August 2011, she peaked at No. 24 in the doubles rankings. Govortsova started the new year at the Brisbane International where she lost in the first round to Barbora Záhlavová-Strýcová. She reached her first WTA Tour final at the 2008 Memphis Championships but lost in straight sets to Lindsay Davenport.
