About William Murray McPherson
Sir William Murray McPherson, KBE was an Australian philanthropist and politician. He was the 31st Premier of Victoria. McPherson, donated Invergowrie House to the Headmistresses’ Association that created a hostel for girls in 1933. As a result, he called an election at which the Nationalists won 17 seats and the Country Party 11, while Labor won 30, with seven independents.
