Jaden McDaniels is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Washington Huskies. He attended Federal Way High School in Federal Way, Washington, where he was named a McDonald's All-American and Washington Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior. McDaniels was a five-star recruit and one of the top players in the 2019 class. He is the younger brother of basketball player Jalen McDaniels. In the 2020 NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers selected McDaniels in the first round with the 28th overall selection. On December 27, 2020, McDaniels made his NBA debut recording 6 points and 1 rebound in 8 minutes off the bench in a 127-91 loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. In the season, he averaged 21.3 points, 10 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3.3 blocks per game and earned USA Today All-USA Washington first team honors.
