Alfonsina Carolina Storni was a Swiss-Argentine poet and playwright of the modernist period. Storni wrote her first verse at the age of twelve, and continued writing verses during her free time. One of Storni's best friends in her adolescence and youth was Victoria Torni, who would become de facto First Lady of Argentina in the 1940s as the wife of Edelmiro Julián Farrell.
