About Alice T. Schafer

Alice Turner Schafer was an American mathematician. She was one of the founding members of the Association for Women in Mathematics in 1971. She was a brilliant student and won the department's James D. In January 1998, she received the Yueh-Gin Gung and Dr Charles Y Hu Award for Distinguished Service to Mathematics, awarded by the Mathematical Association of America.
