About Dai Sijie
Dai Sijie is a Chinese French author and filmmaker living in France since 1984. He writes in French. His first novel, Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress, written in French, was a best seller and has been translated into more than 25 languages. Dai's first book, Balzac et la petite tailleuse chinoise (Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress) (2000), was made into a movie in 2002, which he himself adapted and directed. Dai's second book, Le Complexe de Di (The Di Complex) won the Prix Femina in 2003.
