Gardom was elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the constituency of Vancouver-Point Grey in the general elections of 1966, 1969, 1972, 1975, 1979, and 1983. In 1987, Gardom was appointed the agent-general for British Columbia in London, England.
