Hugo Armando Campagnaro (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈuɣo]; born 27 June 1980) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a centre back. He started his club career in Argentina with Deportivo Morón, before moving to Europe to play for Italian club Pescara. After five seasons in the Serie A and then Serie B, he joined top flight club Sampdoria. He then spent four seasons at Napoli, where he won the Coppa Italia, and two at Inter Milan. In 2015, he joined Serie B club Pescara, helping them earn a promotion in 2016. He retired at the club in 2020. He made his debut for Argentina in 2012 at the age of 31. He earned 17 caps for his country, and represented them at the 2014 World Cup, where he won a runners-up medal. A full international for Argentina since 2012, Campagnaro has earned 17 caps for his country, and two years later was selected for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where he won a runners-up medal.
