About Meir Dagan

Aluf Meir Dagan (Hebrew: מאיר דגן; 30 January 1945 – 17 March 2016) was an Israel Defense Forces major general (reserve) and director of the Mossad. In April 2011, Dagan was awarded the Haim Herzog Award for his unique contribution to the State of Israel. Reportedly, much of its annual budget of $350 million was diverted from traditional intelligence gathering and analysis to field operations and "special tasks".
