Dominique Stephon "Nico" Collins (born March 19, 1999) is an American professional football wide receiver for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Michigan Wolverines and was selected by the Texans in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft. == Early life == Collins was born and raised in Pinson, Alabama, the youngest of three children. His father, Don Collins, a Michigan native, worked as a surgical tech, and his mother worked in human resources. In his youth, Collins played AAU basketball. He attended Clay-Chalkville High School in Clay, Alabama, where he played wide receiver on the undefeated football team that won the 2014 Class 6A state championship. As a junior, he caught 60 passes for 1,103 yards and 16 touchdowns. As a senior, he had 43 receptions for 865 yards and 9 touchdowns. In February 2017, Collins committed to play football at Michigan over Georgia and Alabama. His paternal grandparents live near Buffalo, NY. == College career == In 2017, Collins enrolled at the University of Michigan.
