About Paul Farnes

Paul Caswell Powe Farnes, was a British Royal Air Force fighter pilot, and Second World War flying ace. He flew during the Battle of Britain as one of "The Few", and flew the Hawker Hurricane and Supermarine Spitfire in aerial combat. He scored 8 kills. Farnes's first wife was Pamela Barton who died in 1989. During August 1940 he claimed 5 more and in October 1940 he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal (DFM). After the war, Farnes became a liaison officer for training centres with the Air Ministry.
