Rex Ellingwood Beach was an American novelist, playwright, and Olympic water polo player. Beach was a member of the Chicago Athletic Association water polo team which won the silver medal in the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Beach served as the first president of the Rollins College Alumni Association.
