About Stewart Stern

Stewart Henry Stern was an American screenwriter. He is best known for writing the screenplay for the film Rebel Without a Cause (1955), starring James Dean. In World War II he served as an infantryman, seeing combat in the Battle of the Bulge, for which he was awarded the Bronze Star. Stewart Henry Stern (March 22, 1922 – February 2, 2015) was an American screenwriter. He was the subject of the documentary Going Through Splat: The life and work of Stewart Stern.
