Thiago Ezequiel Almada is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for La Liga club Atlético Madrid and the Argentina national team. Almada began his first-team career as a wing forward under manager Gabriel Heinze. In his first two years with Heinze at the helm, Almada appeared in 46 matches and tallied nine goals. He also won the 2024 Copa Libertadores and the Brazilian Série A with Botafogo. Almada was a member of the Argentina team that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, making history by becoming the first active Major League Soccer (MLS) player to win the tournament, and is regarded as one of the best MLS players of all time.
