About Tyler Anderson

Tyler John Anderson (born December 30, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Colorado Rockies, San Francisco Giants, Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Los Angeles Angels. He played college baseball for the University of Oregon. The Rockies selected Anderson in the first round, with the 20th overall selection, of the 2011 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2016. He is a two-time All-Star. == Amateur career == Anderson attended Spring Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he played four seasons of varsity baseball. While serving as the assistant coach for the Oregon Ducks baseball team, Andrew Checketts discovered Anderson while pitching against a rival high school. The Minnesota Twins selected Anderson in the 50th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft, but he did not sign. Anderson enrolled at the University of Oregon as a political science major and played college baseball for the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-10 Conference.
